What is Fertility Yoga?
Holistic Approach: Physical poses (asanas), breathing (pranayama), and guided relaxation are combined to address the physical and emotional aspects of fertility.
Cycle-Syncing: Yoga practices are adapted to align with the menstrual cycle, either to support, rest, or revitalize the body.
Stress Reduction: Deep relaxation and breath work calm the nervous system, counteracting stress' negative impact on reproductive health.
Reproductive Support: Through specific poses, blood flow and warmth to the pelvic area and reproductive organs is enhanced.
I have been working with fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum patients using acupuncture and herbs for over a decade and teaching yoga for 5 years.
I was recently inspired by patients to add a more cycle based approach to my yoga practice and then to teach yoga workshops to inspire a more thoughtful way for us to come to the mat during the different parts of our cycle. Cycle focused yoga could potentially help to decrease PMS, irregular cycles, dysmenorrhea and can support fertility.
